The following dance instructors are Social Dance Teacher members of USA Dance Greater Macon Chapter #6059:

Paula East: An experienced dancer, choreographer, and instructor with a commitment to promoting social dancing and dancesport to the local community. Her distinguished résumé features high-profile performances at home and abroad as well as extensive formal training and multiple professional certifications in dance education. At this stage of her career she enjoys teaching, mentoring, and passing on skills to the coming generations. She also enjoys the rewarding experience of helping students discover themselves through lessons, choreography, and dance exhibitions. Paula is a founding member of USA Dance Greater Macon Chapter 6059, a former board member of Stars Over Macon benefiting Pine Pointe Hospice, and an ambassador for the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. Dianne Kent: "Dancing with Dianne": Dianne has been in the dance world for 23 years as a social dance instructor. She studied and trained under Paula East and performed in many community events hosted by Paula. She performed as a "Pro" for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and for the inaugural year of Alzheimer's Association Dancing Stars of Central Georgia, and has danced several times on national television. Dianne has served as secretary and treasurer for USA Dance Greater Macon Chapter 6059. She has received 3 "Volunteer of the Year" awards from Macon-Bibb Parks and Recreation and several "Appreciation" awards from the Georgia Golden Olympics. Debra Leathers: With a passion for all dance forms, Debra Leathers was hooked on dance from her very first lesson. She has led Latin workshops and dances in Oman, Kuwait, and Uzbekistan. As co-director of SalsaNoir Productions in Savannah, she aspired to bring Afro-Cuban music/culture to the forefront and let the community know the history and meaning of "SALSA". Debra has danced, performed, and choreographed several numbers for Savannah's CASA Dancing with the Stars. Her specialties include Flamenco (Sevillanas), Beginning Ballroom, Argentine Tango, Salsa, Bachata, Chacarera, and Rueda de Salsa. Contact Debra at

Jim Riley: Jim has many years of experience in ballroom dancing, including experience as a pro-am competitor, and is a member of USA Dance Greater Macon Chapter 6059. Jim now lives in Atlanta but travels to Macon to instruct from time to time.

Laura Thomason and Daniel Boudreault: Daniel and Laura are dancesport athlete members of USA Dance Greater Macon Chapter 6059 and are proud to represent the chapter at competitions around the southeast. Daniel started dancing as a teenager; he is a former board member of USA Dance Greater Macon Chapter 6059. He is the winner of the People's Choice award at Dancing Stars of Central Georgia 2012 with his star partner Ashley Copelan. Laura studied ballet and jazz from grade school through college, began figure skating in her late 20s, and took up ballroom dancing in 2006. She continues to train in ballet, tap, and modern dance as well as ballroom. With her star partner Dean Copelan, she won the People's Choice award at Dancing Stars of Central Georgia 2014. Laura says "We want to build your confidence and comfort on the dance floor by making sure you enjoy dancing as much as we do. We are passionate about dance and eager to share that passion! We love to help beginners progress from their first steps to having fun at a social dance or wowing family and friends at a special event." See for more information.
